Conference papers are short, often 4–6 pages, presented at events with lighter or no full peer review. Journal papers undergo rigorous double-blind review, require fuller methodology and discussion, and carry more weight for jobs and PhD applications. You may expand a conference paper into a journal article if you disclose the prior version and add substantial new analysis — submit to IJERS with a clear cover letter.
